Grace Brightman's Group Reviews

Reflection on Group Presentations Over the past few classes, we watched group presentations, including the one my group did. I really enjoyed seeing how each group shared their topic in a unique way. Everyone worked hard, and I learned a lot about public speaking. I also saw different ways people use teamwork and creativity when giving a presentation. Group 1 did a great job. One part I really liked was when they talked about the history of public speaking . They explained how it started with the Ancient Greeks and Romans . I didn’t know anything about that before, so I found it really interesting. I also learned something new called the “ Five Arts of Public Speaking .” These five parts are invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery . These steps help people prepare and give a good speech. I think that will help me in the future. Group 1 also had great slides. They used nice colors, pictures, and made their points easy to read. It wasn’t too full of words, which helped me pa...

Group 1-4 Reflection Yamil Perez: Group 1  Things that went well:  I really liked how Group 1 started the class presentations on such a strong and confident note. Even though they were the first group to present, they came well-prepared and delivered the required information clearly and effectively. Their presentation demonstrated that they had invested effort in understanding the material and logically organizing their content. Each group member contributed meaningfully, and their teamwork was evident throughout the presentation. It’s never easy being the first to go, but Group 1 handled it with professionalism and set a great example for the rest of the class. Their clear communication and preparation helped the audience grasp the key points of the chapter. Overall, they made a strong impression and successfully kicked off the presentations. Things to consider moving forward:  Group 1 did a wonderful job with their presentation. Their content was clear, informati...

Victoria R critique post

1 st presentation critique   To begin with, I personally think everyone did amazing. I’m a person who gets very nervous talking to a large group of people, hence why I chose to take this class online. Along with this, I believe a good amount of students who take this class online agree with that as well. Keeping this in mind, I feel like everyone did amazing presenting. Every presentation was very well put together, formally organized as groups, and very fluid. Not only that but everyone organized themselves perfectly and accordingly to meet all the requirements for this presentation without needing instruction by the professor or class leaders. Everyone’s cooperation made our first presentation feel like it is our last in a 16 week class already. What stood out the most to me was how professional everyone seemed. Nobody looked like this was their very first college speech class, even though for many of us it is and some were visibly nervous. Everybody pushed their and were pre...

PowerPoint Reflection - Meli Sosa

Two Weeks, Four Groups, and a Whole Lot of PowerPoints Group presentations. Just saying those two words makes most students roll their eyes or feel their stomach sink. And honestly, I felt the same way when I first saw this assignment. But now that we’ve spent two full weeks going through them I can say it wasn’t as painful as I expected. In fact, I ended up learning a lot, not just about the chapters we were covering, but about how people present, what works, and what definitely doesn’t. This is my take, blogger style, on how those two weeks went down. Group 1 Starting Strong Group 1 had to go first, which is basically the hardest job. You don’t know what the teacher expects, you don’t know how the audience is going to react, and you’re basically the guinea pigs for everyone else. But honestly? They crushed it. What impressed me right away was that they opened with an agenda slide. Such a small detail, but it made their presentation feel so much more organized. I didn’t reali...
