A Reflection of SPC2608 10:00AM Class Presentations

                                                       Overall Reflection
Hello! We are Group 4 and first and foremost, we want to say everyone in each group did a fantastic job explaining their points presented, especially in the time constraint they were placed under. Though, we have some constructive comments and they are NOT to be taken offensively. We hope you receive them with humility and consider them so that you all will ROCK this next presentation!!

                             LETS DO THIS!!! 🎸🤟
       Group 1-4 Reflection Adriel Delgado:
Group 1
Things that went well:
I feel that Group 1 did an amazing and impressive job presenting, especially since they had the least amount of time to prepare their presentation. They had a wonderful coordinator, Carlos Hernandez and a specialized introduction and conclusion done by Rebeca Castro!
The illustrations added to each slide was a very nice touch as well. They made the presentation so much more engaging and aesthetic. I also loved the fact that there was many visual demonstrations throughout the presentation which added to the "Wow-Factor"!

SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO CALIXTO ALFONSO
Calixto especially stuck out to us because of his passionate speaking and improvisation. I think Group 1 can really take on Calixto's example!

Things to consider moving forward:
There are not many critiques that we have for Group 1, though I did notice that most of them used prewritten scripts to aid their presentation. Not including Calixto, I saw many of the presenters not as engaged in their topics because they were reading off scripts that really didn't connected with us, the Audience. It is important to note that when presenting, you must focus on the audience so that they can get your point in full. I felt that the presentation also needed better execution, starting with how the slides were conveyed to the audience. It was lacking a bit of clarity and the points could have been described better.

That is all for Group 1, AWESOME JOB!!

Group 2
Things that went well:
Group 2 was a very well-rounded group. Everyone had solid points to express and presented in a timely manner. The points presented were very valid and well formatted. One thing that I personally liked with Group 2 is that some of them tried to go off script when they felt it was needed. This showed courage and bravery that the audience takes into account. Although some of their team/ group members were not able to attend their portion of the presentation, the group made a valiant effort filling in any holes that needed to be filled in order for the presentation to run more smoothly, not blaming their other group members either, which shows their friendly group collaboration with one another.

SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO ERIKA BERNIER!!!
Although she had a hard time explaining her points early on during her section, I am impressed by her ability to use real-world examples to connect with her audience. TRULY ADMIRABLE!!

Things to consider moving forward:
Although there was a lot to discuss, it is important to keep the presenting going without pausing or interruptions. There is things that happen, whether it be technologically or physically un your surrounding areas so make sure to present with confidence and work through the distractions, whatever they may be. Overall, the group was missing some group members and when presenting in front of an audience, every one of the member in the group MUST be in attendance. Not showing up for whatever reason does not put a good look on your other group members.

Otherwise, GREAT JOB AND KEEP WORKING HARD!!

Group 3
Things that went well:
Starting off, Group 3 was one of the more smaller groups, with only four members!! When the team needed it most, they were there for each other and made sure to present in a timely manner. I loved how Group 3 cut straight to the chase and did not waste any time. Even though there was not a lot of time to present due to a presentation done for CHANGEMAKERS, they still pulled through in a speedy manner with only a little time left over to present the following class.

SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO JULIEN MORALES!!!
Julien, with the longest section made sure to expand on each point thoroughly. Although, he did not have enough time to articulate his points fully at the end, his effort to persuade the audience into buying in on his points was impressive.

Things to consider moving forward:
As they had the LEAST amount of people and much information to cover, it is important to work effectively as a team. The presentation could have been smoother and more timely. Condensing three points into one concise point could have aided you all a lot.

OVERALL, great job!!

Group 4
Things that went well:
MY GROUP 4 did awesome. Although we were the biggest group, it was a problem to sort out the information without presenting choppy. Though, I felt we did truly awesome!! Everyone came prepared with their notes/script and it all flowed very well together. Each member played their part and worked hard to be prepared when it mattered most. I personally love the addition of class engagement into the presentation. It helped the audience stay involved, making them feel like they play a part in the presentation. Professor Sinkoff was also such an awesome help in Group 4. She participated in my section of the presentation and she did an awesome job. Professor Sinkoff is an honorary member of Group 4, since without her, the presentation could not have been executed as well as it did.

SHOUTOUT TO NATALIA LOPES
Natalia was the last one to present from Group 4, but that did not stop her completely crushing her section of the presentation! Undergoing a cold, Natalia pushed through regardless of her physical condition. Her points were delivered exceptionally well and she modeled a great example of how to work hard no matter the conditions and circumstances!!

Things to consider moving forward:
My Group 4 did an outstanding job gathering information and presenting it, I am so PROUD of my group and of their resilience with this project!! Though Professor Sinkoff did mention that we did not include our names for each slide on the outline. One thing we must work on is making sure our outline is not choppy or unclear. This mistake didn’t affect our grade, but it is important that we learn from this mistake moving forward and make sure our outline is just as good as the presentation. Let’s make this next presentation better than ever with our new changes and critiques!!

NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR YOU ALL!!

      Group 1-4 Reflection Yamil Perez:
Group 1
Things that went well:
I really liked how Group 1 started the class presentations on such a strong and confident note. Even though they were the first group to present, they came well-prepared and delivered the required information clearly and effectively. Their presentation demonstrated that they had invested effort in understanding the material and logically organizing their content. Each group member contributed meaningfully, and their teamwork was evident throughout the presentation. It’s never easy being the first to go, but Group 1 handled it with professionalism and set a great example for the rest of the class. Their clear communication and preparation helped the audience grasp the key points of the chapter. Overall, they made a strong impression and successfully kicked off the presentations.

Things to consider moving forward:
Group 1 did a wonderful job with their presentation. Their content was clear, informative, and well-organized, showing a solid understanding of the material. Each member contributed effectively, and the overall structure helped maintain the audience’s attention. However, moving forward, they might consider incorporating more interaction with the class to make the presentation more engaging and dynamic. This would help create a more interactive learning environment and encourage audience participation. That said, it’s important to acknowledge that this was the very first presentation, and it's completely understandable if they weren't entirely comfortable yet. As they gain more experience, their confidence and presentation style will likely improve. Overall, Group 1 set a strong foundation and delivered a solid start to the series of class presentations.

Group 2
Things that went well:
Group 2 delivered an outstanding presentation that effectively covered all the key topics, ensuring the audience gained a solid understanding of the chapter’s main points. One of the most impressive aspects was the clear division of content among group members. Each person presented a different section, which helped avoid repetition and maintained a smooth flow throughout. This organization highlighted the team’s strong coordination and preparation. Additionally, the group demonstrated a solid grasp of the subject matter, and it was clear that they had closely followed the presentation guidelines. Their delivery was both informative and engaging, keeping the audience attentive and involved. Overall, Group 2’s presentation was well-structured, insightful, and educational, making it a strong example of effective group collaboration delivery.

Things to consider moving forward:
Group 2 did an amazing job with their presentation and successfully covered all the key points required for the assignment. They clearly understood the material and made sure to communicate the main ideas effectively to the audience. Each group member contributed to the discussion, and their teamwork was evident. However, I do feel that with just a bit more preparation, the overall delivery could have been smoother and more polished. While all the necessary information was included, there were moments where it felt slightly rushed or less confident. With more rehearsal or familiarity with the content, their presentation could have been even stronger. That said, it was still a well-done and informative presentation that reflected a good understanding of the topic and solid group effort.

Group 3
Things that went well:
In my opinion, Group 3 was one of the strongest groups in terms of overall presentation quality. Each member appeared to be thoroughly prepared and well-informed about the material they were presenting. Their confidence and clarity made it easy to follow along, and they delivered the content in a way that was both engaging and educational. What stood out the most was how professional many of the presenters sounded—it truly felt like we were listening to trained speakers rather than students. Their transitions between speakers were smooth, and the presentation flowed in a logical, organized manner. Group 3’s strong delivery, knowledge of the topic, and confident presence made their presentation not only informative but also enjoyable to watch. Overall, they did an excellent job.

Things to consider moving forward:
Although Group 3 had one of the strongest and most informative presentations, there were a couple of aspects that stood out to me as areas for improvement. Specifically, a few of the presenters could have demonstrated better body language—standing with more confidence, making eye contact, or using gestures more naturally would have enhanced their delivery. Additionally, the setting in which some of them presented could have been more professional, as background distractions or informal environments slightly took away from the overall polish of the presentation. These small details can make a big difference in how the audience receives the message. That said, the group still did a fantastic job overall. Their content was strong, and their understanding of the material was clear. With those minor adjustments, their presentation would have been exceptional.

Group 4
Things that went well: Group 4 had a really strong presentation overall. We covered all the necessary information and made sure to present the main points clearly and effectively. The structure of the presentation was well-organized, and everyone contributed to making it a success. One of the highlights was Adriel’s part—he did a phenomenal job, especially with how he interacted with the audience. His confidence and engagement helped make the presentation more dynamic and enjoyable to watch. For our first presentation, I think we did a great job setting the tone and showing that we understood the material well. There’s always room to grow, but this was definitely a solid start. With continued effort and practice, our group has the potential to deliver even stronger presentations in the future.

Things to consider moving forward:
Although our group had great points and strong presenters, I believe there’s still room for improvement in future presentations—especially in terms of preparation. Speaking for myself, I feel like I could have been more organized and confident with my part. Since this was our first presentation, it's completely understandable, and I see it as a learning experience. Moving forward, I know I can improve to better contribute to the group and help us meet all the elements of a well-rounded, effective presentation. That said, I’m proud of what we accomplished. The content was solid, the delivery was engaging, and we worked well together as a team. It was an amazing presentation overall, and I’m truly glad to have been a part of this group.

Overall, this was a great experience and I really enjoyed the whole process.

       Group 1-4 Reflection Natalia Lopes:

Group 1
Things that went well:

I really enjoyed Group 1’s presentation; it was well thought-out and educational. I loved the segment where they taught us about the foundations of public speaking, which date back centuries to the Ancient Romans and Greeks, and I thought that was super interesting! I had never heard of the “Five Arts of Public Speaking” before, but I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn about it through this group’s wonderful presentation. There was a lot of incorporation of beautiful and engaging visuals in their slides, which made their presentation all the more engaging for me. Most members of the group seemed prepared and confident in the content they were sharing with us. Calixto especially blew me away with his efficient and engaging delivery of his slides! I really enjoyed this group’s presentation and had fun learning about the basics of public speaking from them.

Things to consider moving forward:

One thing I’d give some feedback on is the confidence levels of a few group members. Everyone did a great job sharing the content, it was clear that you all put effort into it, and the material itself was super solid. That said, I think the presentation would’ve been even stronger if there was just a bit more confidence and energy coming from the group. When presenters seem really into what they’re talking about, it naturally makes the audience more interested too. A little more eye contact, some expressive body language, and just speaking up a bit louder or with more excitement can really help grab people’s attention. I think everyone in this group did amazingly with their speeches and it wasn’t bad at all! But with a little extra outgoing energy and self-assurance, I think the message would’ve landed even more powerfully. This is totally something that comes with practice, and I’m sure as everyone gets more comfortable, that confidence will grow. Keep it up! :)

Group 2
Things that went well:

Group 2’s slideshow was very clean and organized, which I really appreciated. I believe having a clear and organized slideshow is super important towards maintaining audience attention, rather than having complicated stylistic choices in wording/font or images that may be a bit confusing to look at. Though they were missing some members for their presentation, the group was able to improvise and deliver their speeches as flawlessly as they could otherwise. I like that Isabelle took charge in this department and presented the slides for her missing members, as well as communicating with the professor as best she could. Apart from this, I really enjoyed learning about how to effectively create an outline for a speech and how to properly prepare to research a chosen topic.

Things to consider moving forward:
The only main issue this group really had was that they were missing a few members and ran into some technical difficulties right in the middle of the presentation. It was clear they were trying to work things out with the professor and figure out how to fix the situation, which definitely caused a bit of a pause and may have made the audience lose focus for a moment. It’s totally understandable, though, because tech issues happen often, and sometimes people just can’t be there. That said, like I mentioned earlier, Group 2 was able to rise above this problem! They didn’t let the complications throw them off, and they pulled it together in such a smooth way that it honestly didn’t take away much from the overall experience. They stayed calm and improvised on the go, and still managed to deliver an awesome presentation that kept us interested. Major props to them for pushing through and making it work!

Group 3
Things that went well:

In my opinion, Group 3 was incredibly impressive. They were extremely professional and confident when it came to sharing their content with the audience and their slides and speeches flowed perfectly from one member to another. I was impressed that they were able to deliver their presentation in a timely fashion without rushing it needlessly, even though most of our class time was taken away from their presentation, which I took notice of. I really enjoyed learning about the differences between spoken and written language and how they help elevate speeches, as well as the basics of visual design for presentations and what kinds of designs are best to use in order to reinforce key ideas. Venshell delivered her subtopic amazingly and seemed to know the content from her heart, not showing any hesitation with her speech.

Things to consider moving forward:
Something I would change about Group 3’s presentation is maybe adding more visuals to the slides to make them appear less bland and more exciting. They don’t need to add anything too over the top, but I think more visual aids look more appealing to the audience and help capture attention. Another thing that could help is interacting with the audience more to increase engagement; however, I know that would be a little more difficult given the time constraint this group had. Overall, these are the only minor details I want to comment on, and everything else was executed perfectly by this group!

Group 4
Things that went well:

In my opinion, the group I was a part of, group 4, did incredibly well! Though I may be just a bit biased, I really do believe that we did an amazing job. Our group members were so passionate and engaging when it came to the content they were sharing. Adriel, especially, went above and beyond when it came to getting the audience to interact with him to achieve a more engaging presentation, and it worked perfectly! It was super fun to be a part of this group to present, and it was exciting being able to share interesting topics from the textbook with the rest of the class.

Things to consider moving forward:
Only critique I have with my group isn’t really a critique, I mostly just feel that my part of the presentation being delayed by a few class days most likely disengaged the class audience as the final part of our presentation was pushed back by days, so most people might have forgotten what my group’s main topics were by the time I was presenting to our class. Apart from this slight issue, I think my group did awesome, and I loved working with them to deliver great speeches.
