Reflection on Group Presentations

Over the past few classes, we watched group presentations, including the one my group did. I really enjoyed seeing how each group shared their topic in a unique way. Everyone worked hard, and I learned a lot about public speaking. I also saw different ways people use teamwork and creativity when giving a presentation.

Group 1 did a great job. One part I really liked was when they talked about the history of public speaking. They explained how it started with the Ancient Greeks and Romans. I didn’t know anything about that before, so I found it really interesting. I also learned something new called the “Five Arts of Public Speaking.” These five parts are invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery. These steps help people prepare and give a good speech. I think that will help me in the future.

Group 1 also had great slides. They used nice colors, pictures, and made their points easy to read. It wasn’t too full of words, which helped me pay attention. Everyone in the group spoke clearly and seemed very confident. You could tell they practiced and were ready. I think this group taught me how important it is to be confident and use visuals to make a strong presentation.

Group 2 was another group that I thought did really well. What stood out the most was how organized they were. Every person in the group had their own part to present. No one repeated anything, and everything made sense. That showed they planned and worked well together. Their presentation had a good flow, and I didn’t feel confused or lost.

They also explained their topic clearly and at a good speed. I was able to follow along easily. Everyone seemed to understand what they were talking about. They also made eye contact with the class and didn’t just read from the slides, which is something I want to get better at myself. Group 2 showed me how important it is to stay organized and know your topic well.

Group 3 had only four people, so they were the smallest group. But even with fewer members, they did a great job. Their presentation was shorter because of the CHANGEMAKERS event, but they still made it work. They didn’t waste time and went straight to the point, which I liked.

They stayed focused and helped each other. I could see that they worked well as a team. Even with the time limit, they managed to explain their topic clearly. It reminded me that you don’t need a big group to do something great you just need teamwork and focus.

Now let me talk about my group Group 4. We were the biggest group in the class, which made things a little harder. We had to be careful about how we split the work and made sure everything flowed well. It could have been messy, but I think we did an awesome job! Everyone showed up prepared with their notes or script, and we all worked hard to do our part.

One thing I really liked about our presentation was that we got the class involved. We didn’t just talk, we asked questions and had the class participate. I think that made the presentation more fun for everyone. It kept the audience awake and made them feel like they were part of it.

Another thing that made our group special was Professor Sinkoff’s help. She joined in during Adriel’s part and did a great job. She made the presentation more fun and added good energy to it. I’m really thankful she helped us, and we even consider her an honorary member of Group 4! She was super sweet and helped make our presentation even better.

Watching all the group presentations helped me learn a lot. I saw how good teamwork, practice, and clear speaking can make a big difference. Every group had their own strengths, and I picked up tips from each one. This project helped me become more confident about speaking in front of others, and it reminded me that preparing ahead of time is very important.

Areas for Improvement

Even though all the groups did great, there is always room to improve. Here are some things each group (including mine) could work on next time:

Group 1 had great slides and information, but some group members spoke a little too softly or without much energy. Adding more excitement or speaking a little louder would help keep the audience more interested. They could also use more hand movements or facial expressions to make their delivery even better.

Group 2 was very clear and organized, but their presentation could have used more creativity. Adding a short activity, a question for the class, or more pictures could have made it more exciting. Their content was strong, but a little more variety in how they shared it would help grab the audience’s attention even more.

Group 3 was clear and focused, but because of the short time, some of their parts felt rushed. Next time, they could slow down a little or ask for more time to make sure they can explain everything. Also, their slides could use more pictures or examples to help the audience understand their ideas better.

Group 4 (My Group) did a great job overall, but with so many people, it was hard to give everyone equal time. Some of us talked longer than others, and a few people seemed rushed. Next time, we could plan our timing better. Also, while our class engagement was fun, we could have given the audience more time to answer questions or share their thoughts.
